Trail running

... Bob Graham was born and lived in the Lake District, in the north of England, where I was born. He conceived the idea of running over 42 fells (the local term for the mountains), in 24 hours: a distance of 74 miles (120 km). The course is roughly circular and begins and ends in the small town Keswick. The ascent and descent of the course is 28,500 ft (8687 m), the equivalent of taking a stroll up Everest in a day. In 1931, he tried and failed, the next year, when he was 42 years old, Bob Graham completed it - in tennis shoes, a pyjama top and long shorts. He ate bread and butter, boiled eggs and sweets...
