Choosing Your Crampons
Petzl crampons are designed for moving over different types of terrain. Each one is designed for a specific use. However, their versatility also enables efficient movement in mixed terrain that may be encountered in alpine environments.

Petzl Binding Systems
Petzl crampons are available with three different heel/toe bail combinations. This makes them adaptable to different footwear with or without heel and toe welts.

Modular Crampons With the ALPEN ADAPT System
Modular heel/toe bail binding system
Petzl offers a large range of heel and toe bails systems, making crampons compatible with a wide variety of boots: for mountaineering, skiing, snowboarding, or telemark skiing.
FIL and FIL FLEX bindings have three versions to adapt to different boot shapes, narrow or wide.

Starting in 2024, all these bindings will be compatible with all Petzl crampons.
Modular front and rear sections
The ALPEN ADAPT system also offers front and rear section modularity, so you can use the configuration that best fits your objective:
