Exclusive Technologies
The HYBRID CONCEPT design allows Petzl’s compact headlamps to run on either the CORE rechargeable battery or three AAA/LR03 batteries without an adapter.
Exclusive REACTIVE LIGHTING® technology developed by Petzl instantly provides the right lighting at the right time, without need for manual operation. Burn time is optimized so you can remain focused on the activity.

The Ideal Balance Between Brightness and Burn Time
Petzl has chosen to comply with the ANSI (American National Standards Institute) protocol to measure and demonstrate the lighting performance and burn times of our headlamps. This voluntary move allows users to easily compare the lighting performance and water resistance of different headlamp models using standardized criteria.
Prioritize burn time with STANDARD LIGHTING.
Brightness decreases gradually as the batteries are drained. This is the most common technology.
Prioritize brightness throughout use with CONSTANT LIGHTING.
Brightness level remains constant as the batteries drain.
Optimize lighting performance with REACTIVE LIGHTING.
Brightness varies according to the user’s need. This intelligent lighting technology optimizes battery life, offering longer burn time.
Reserve Lighting
When the battery is almost drained, the headlamp switches automatically to reserve lighting to provide minimum lighting for several hours.
Beam Patterns
Wide:
Proximity lighting (to see up close or around your feet).
Mixed:
Dual beam pattern to see up close or far away when moving.
Focused:
Focused beam to illuminate specific objects or see at a distance.
Water Resistance and Durability
A headlamp’s resistance to solids and/or liquids is indicated by its IP rating.
This index classifies the level of protection offered by equipment against intrusions by solids (e.g. dust) and liquids (e.g. water, oil).
Depending on the range and model, Petzl headlamps may be:
Dustproof and waterproof.
Protected against dust and spraying water.

A headlamp’s durability or impact resistance is indicated by its IK rating, as well as by impact and crush resistance testing.
Petzl headlamps are designed to be highly durable for use in demanding environments. Our headlamps meet different criteria depending on the range and model:
Protected against a 2-joule impact.
Protected against a 0.70-joule impact.

Compatible With a Variety of Helmet Types
All Petzl headlamps are designed to be worn on the head or mounted on a helmet. Both options allow the headlamp to be tilted. They can be mounted on a wide range of helmet types with Petzl mounting plates (included or available as an accessory).
