IMPORTANT VOLUNTARY RECALL SWAN EASYFIT STEEL and STAINLESS HARNESS
Petzl is voluntarily recalling the SWAN EASYFIT STEEL harnesses (references C062AA00 (single) and C062AA01 (5-pack)) and SWAN EASYFIT STAINLESS harnesses (references C062BA00 (single) and C062BA01 (5-pack)) due to a defect in the FAST LT buckle that could lead to a fatal fall. Please immediately stop using the harnesses affected by this recall.

IDENTIFIED RISK
We have identified a nonconforming batch of FAST LT buckles (see visuals of the buckles above). The harnesses concerned by this recall use these FAST LT buckles, positioned on the back, in order to close the harness. The risk can occur when one or both of the FAST LT buckles break and the harness no longer closes, which places the user at risk of exiting the harness completely, falling from height and sustaining serious injury or death.
AFFECTED HARNESSES
Only certain batches of SWAN EASYFIT STEEL (references C062AA00 for single harnesses and C062AA01 for 5-packs ) and SWAN EASYFIT STAINLESS (references C062BA00 for single harnesses and C062BA01 for 5-packs) are subject to this recall.
For the United States and Canada, the affected products were sold from June 22, 2022 to present.
How do I identify the batch number of the harness?
The batch number of your harness corresponds to the first 10 digits of its individual number (outlined below):
IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED
If your harness is affected by this recall, please immediately follow these instructions :
- If you are a user :
- Cease all use of the affected harnesses.
- Quarantine these harnesses and return them to Petzl.
- Circulate this information to your network.
- If you are a retailer :
- Stop selling the affected harnesses.
- Quarantine these harnesses and return them to Petzl.
- Distribute this information to your customers.
In both cases: return your harness to Petzl for a free replacement.

Yes, the NEWTON FAST and the NEWTON EASYFIT European Version harnesses (sold only in Europe) also feature FAST LT buckles affected by the same non-conformity and are subject to a recall. The NEWTON FAST and the NEWTON EASYFIT European Version harnesses are not sold in the United States and Canada.
