Sport Headlamps: The Petzl Difference
At Petzl, we’ve been innovating hands-free lighting for over 50 years. Our goal has always been to provide our customers with headlamps that are ever-evolving to deliver the highest performance. Whether it’s for caving, running, skiing, hiking, or everyday activities, Petzl makes headlamps to meet your every need.
Intelligent and Practical Technologies
This exclusive technology developed by Petzl instantly provides the right lighting at the right time. Featuring a light sensor and an accelerometer, the lamp is able to automatically adapt the lighting level. Burn time is optimized so you can remain focused on the activity. REACTIVE LIGHTING® technology offers:
- Visual comfort with less manual operation
- Longer burn time and optimized energy consumption to limit environmental impact
The Brightness You Need, Guaranteed
The minimum brightness level varies according to the intensity of the activity.

The HYBRID CONCEPT design allows Petzl’s compact headlamps to run on either the CORE rechargeable battery or three AAA/LR03 batteries without an adapter.
For frequent to intensive use, reduce your environmental impact and opt for a CORE rechargeable battery with a lifespan equivalent to that of 900 standard batteries.

Lighting Modes That Adapt to Your Needs
Prioritize burn time with STANDARD LIGHTING
Brightness decreases gradually as the batteries are drained. This is the most common technology.
Prioritize brightness throughout use with CONSTANT LIGHTING
Brightness level remains constant as the batteries drain.
Optimize lighting performance with REACTIVE LIGHTING
Brightness varies according to the user’s need. This intelligent lighting technology optimizes battery life, offering longer burn time.
See In the Dark — Up Close or Far Away
Beam Patterns
Wide: Wide beam to comfortably see up close or around your feet.
Mixed: Dual beam pattern to see up close or far away when moving.
Focused: Focused beam to illuminate specific objects or see at a distance.
Don’t Get Caught In the Dark: Reserve Lighting
Reserve lighting provides a minimum light level for walking. However, the light may not be sufficient for fast-paced activities (such as running, mountain biking, or skiing).
Automatically switches to reserve lighting.
Don’t Let Rain or Snow Stop You
All Petzl headlamps are resistant to weather, such as rain or snow, as well as damp environments (IPX4 rating).
For other specific activities like caving, we make headlamps that are dustproof and can be immersed in fresh water (IP67).

Increase Versatility With Accessories
We offer a large range of accessories to help diversify ways you can use your headlamp: mounting plates to install the headlamp on a variety of helmet types or on a bike, extension cords to carry the rechargeable battery separately, and even cases that transform the lamp into a lantern.
Compare Lighting Performance
Petzl has chosen to comply with the ANSI (American National Standards Institute) protocol to measure and demonstrate the lighting performance and burn times of our headlamps. This voluntary move allows users to easily compare the lighting performance and water resistance of different headlamp models using standardized criteria.
